AC CONTROL MODULE
The Generator Unit controls the engine/generator set to develop a constant AC supply. The output of several generators generators are fed to a commom AC bus.
product description
Ross Hill s standard AC module has been utilized for over a quarter of a century. The module has proven itself by being the number one engine/generator controller in the drilling industry. Although the module’s control scheme has remained essentially the same, Ross Hill has continuously refined and improved module preformance to respond to our customers needs. At the same time Ross Hill's goal has always been to keep the module simple and reliable, and virtually eliminate the need for servicing and troubleshooting.
The standard 1400 AC Control module is available for all Caterpillar s "B" series engines.
Features of the AC module:
Engine speed regulator.
KW sharing within 10% of maximum engine rating is provided by master/slave electronic circuit.
KVAR sharing by droop compensation.
HOC circuit for "black start" capability.
Operating temperature range is -30°C to +50°C.
No load to full load KW voltage is regulation less than 1%
No load to full load KVARS voltage regulation is3%
Additional advantages:
All AC modules are interchangeable for quick replacement and reduced inventory.
Module connections are hard wired, and there are no pin connectors to contaminate or loosen from vibration.
Burn-in testing eliminates any inferior components before the module leaves our plant.
Module carries standard Ross Hill warranty and can be returned for expert factory repair with a normal turn around time of about one week.
Protective functions provided by the module:
Function | Description of Function |
Over Frequency Trip | Trips generator circuit breaker when frequency exceeds 67HZ. |
Under Frequency Trip | Trips generator circuit breaker when frequency falls below 50HZ. |
Over Voltage Trip | Trips generator circuit breaker if generator voltage reaches 700VAC. |
Reverse Power Trip | Trips generator circuit breaker 7-12 seconds after condition is detected. |
Idle Trip | Trips generator circuit breaker when governor control switch is moved from the run to the idle position. |
No Pulse | Trips generator circuit when the magnetic pickup signal is lost. |
