The model 1400 is Ross Hill Controls' most popular Eng/Gen Control System. This system is an excellent selection for generator controls in your new or upgraded platform or land rig.

These controls are perfect for power packages of medium and small SCR systems. These systems are used around the world in all climates from the Arctic Circle to the deserts of Saudi Arabia. The model 1400 SCR system is CSA approved.

The model 1400 is designed as a front access system minimizing the amount of valuable space the system requires. For land rig packages this system is normally installed in a power control house. The power control houses are designed for portability and minimum rig up/down time. However, the power control house can also be used on a platform rig. This system design, like all Ross Hill systems, focuses on simplistic operation, reliability, superior performance and ease of maintenance.

The system is equipped with the following:

?      A 1600AF/AT breaker, manually charged, electrically closed, (stationary mounting)

?      Ammeter 0-1500A

?      Kilowatt meter 0-1500KW

?      Kilovar meter 0-1500KVAR

?      Generator On-line lamp

?      Generator running lamp

?      Push to Close button illuminated by the in sync lamp

?      Hour meter

?      Engine control push-button OFF-IDLE-RUN

?      Manual Speed Adjust Control

?      Manual Voltage Adjust Control

Synchronizing instrumentation

Synchronizing switch with positions for each generator, bus and off. (Usually mounted on SCR 2's cubicle door)

Sync Check Relay 

A sync box containing:

?      1-Voltmeter that can monitor main bus or generator. (Determined by position of sync switch)

?      1-Frequency meter monitors main bus or generator. (Determined by position of sync switch)

?      Synchroscope

?      Synchronizing indicator lamps (clear)

Ground Detection Instrumentation

?      3-Ground detection lamps

?      Percent of AC ground condition meter, 0-100%. (available with meter relay)

?      Percent of DC ground condition meter,

?      100% - 0 - 100% (available with meter relay)

?      Ground indication test push button.

?      Hands-Off-circuit (Usually not required for 3500B engines or EMD engines)

?      2 - 12VDC batteries

?      1- Double pole circuit breaker

?      The model 1400 generator cubicle comes with the standard drilling system AC module. This is the industry standard. It is simple to operate, has great performance and is interchangeable between all generator cubicles, provided the engines are the same type. Refer to information sheet on the standard AC module for additional information and specifications.
